Pray Lubbock Pastors Prayer Summit with John 15

Registration for our Pastors Prayer Summit is now open to lead and associate pastors, creating the opportunity to attend with your staff.  Our goal remains to have broad representation of churches in Lubbock, so if the lead pastor cannot attend, please consider sending another pastor from your church.  Our capacity is 40, not including the option for pastors to attend and use one of the campsite hook-ups.  We continue to prayer that God is assembling the right group for this time. Register at the bottom of this page.

The Pray Lubbock Pastors Prayer Summit is October 13-14, 2025.  Including travel time, you will need to leave Lubbock at noon on Monday and be back to Lubbock by 4:00 on Tuesday.  You will participate in significant times of prayer with other pastors as well as personal prayer alone with God.  Secondarily, you will discover the value of becoming better acquainted with fellow pastors.  We will conclude by 3:00pm on Tuesday.  You can register below.

We will let Jesus' words in John 15 guide us through these 26 hours exploring these themes:  Remaining in the Vine, Loving One Another, Being Jesus' Friends, Powerful Effective Prayer, Praying for and serving an Outraged Culture, "They hated Me for No Reason" (15:25), and the Promised Assistance of the Spirit of Truth, - these will all be addressed.

This prayer summit, like ones we have directed in the past, will provide concerted times for pastors to experience a retreat setting in which prayer is the focal point. We will pray extensively for our city, the churches in the city, the collective pastorate of the city and for our own personal walk with the Lord. There will be time for both group prayer and time to seek God alone in prayer. With prayer as our primary activity, an important biproduct will be finding or deepening relationships with one another.

Examples of our experience will be a panel session with some of the original Pray Lubbock Ministry Team Members: Larry Brooks, Doug Hale, Gary Kirksey, David Shelburne and Jackie White.  They will describe the spiritual atmosphere in the mid-late 1990's that impelled them to unite in prayer and the impact their associations they had with other pastors had on their ministry.

For one of our sessions, "Praying for Lubbock," Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer will join us at the camp so they we might pray with insight.

We not only need to pray for various needs in our community, but we also need to hear from God.  There will be designed time for each pastor to get alone with God in this beautiful outdoor setting to pray and listen for God's still small voice.

The cost will be $75 for a bed in the Adult Conference Center (double occupancy in motel style rooms) and three meals. I have secured a limited number of full scholarships so please let me know if a scholarship would make the difference for you.

You will need to arrive at the camp by 1:00pm on Monday, October 13, for registration, with our opening sessions beginning at 1:30. Grab lunch on your way out to the camp and we will have a snack at 3:30 and our evening meal at 6:00pm. We will wrap up the event by 3:00pm on Tuesday. Travel time to/from the camp is a little under an hour. You can register below.

This event will serve as our quarterly Pastors Prayer Gathering.  Our next Quarterly gathering for Prayer will be Wednesday, January 26 at noon. More details will follow.
