Week 1: Spiritual Freedom

Desired outcome of today's prayer: Our target is to bind the schemes of Satan which bring corruption, unscrupulous behavior and greed to people. We pray to do battle and tear down unholy practices, philosophies and lies in the business world that are contrary to the knowledge of God. Proverbs 11:1 "The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him."

Groups targeted for prayer:  Small businesses, large businesses, construction, distribution and trade, transportation/public utilities, wholesale industry, banks and financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, services, real estate, hospital/health care systems, retail, restaurant industry, motels, tourism, agriculture, Consulting Services, Home Businesses, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic chamber of commerce, African American chamber of commerce, Better Business Bureau, Rotary, Kiwanis, Optimists, Market Lubbock Temp services,  

Pray that the following distressful circumstances would be curtailed,,, 

• Immoral businesses, albeit legal, which feed on and further entrap our citizens in fleshly pursuits or addictions, as they promote moral decadence and are designed to profit on the demise of our citizens  

• Corruption in business such as misrepresentation in taxes, fraudulent employee compensation, money laundering, time-clock fraud, insider trading, culture of dishonesty  

• Businesses involved in illegal activity such as prostitution, illegal drug trafficking, selling controlled substances to minors, organized crime, human trafficking  

• Businesses and franchise owners who are under attack because they honor God and His Word    

• Spirit of greed which controls business owners to need to acquire wealth no matter what the cost  • Spirit of materialism causing business owners and workers to believe that they must have things to be happy  

• Spirit of insecurity leading to valuating self-worth purely on business and financial success or abundance  

• Lending institutions lacking integrity and discriminating unjustly regarding business loans  

• Spirit of Apathy in the workplace that diminishes productivity  

• Immoral standards imposed upon workers by business owners  

Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain, unless the Lord guards a city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”
