Mar. 28 - God's Destiny for Government and Civic Entities

Friday - Government and Civic Entities
Week 4 - God's Destiny
Desired outcome for today's prayer - The Bible says that all in authority have been placed there by God with a responsibility to assist in shepherding the people for good. It is our concern, today, that all in government authority be lifted up in prayer to aspire to and achieve their highest God-given potential for the good of the people. Romans 13:1-7 (only excerpts are printed here) "Everyone is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.... for it is a servant of God to you for good...for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing."

Prayer issues for today:
• Pray that our armed forces and all personnel within would be defenders of our constitution, Truth, and an agent not only for our country but in God’s hands.
• Pray that our public servants would reach their highest potential by resembling Jesus in his demonstration of laying down His life for others.
• Pray that Lubbock, as a city, would become everything God has intended it to be as a city on a hill for our region, Texas and the USA.
• Pray that there be a desire on the hearts of our civic and elected leaders to receive the prayers of their people and be lifted up for God’s blessing, guidance and correction.
• That the citizenship will recognize that elected officials have been established by God and will therefore submit to the governing authorities where there is no conflict with God’s authority, and will pray, unceasingly, for God’s will to be done.
II Sam 23:3,4 – "The God of Israel said it; the Rock of Israel spoke to me: 'He who rules mankind righteously, who rules in the fear of God, is like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when fresh grass springs out of the earth, from sunshine after rain.'"
