Prayer issues for today:
• We pray that increasing numbers of students, teachers and administrators will realize that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
• Pray for a recapturing of our founding fathers’ original intent that the morality of the Bible be taught in school and that the basis for behavior and discipline be Biblical.
• Pray for success so that the schools produce graduates who have mastered reading, critical thinking, math and applied math, sciences, technology and all the rest, so they are equipped for the next chapter in their lives.
• Pray for our children as our government considers federal verses state oversight of our school systems, that the education of our children/youth will not be diminished while changes are explored or implemented.
• Pray that parents will take primary responsibility for their children’s education by speaking of Scripture and of the Lord in the car, in the home, in the evening, in the morning, with reminders on their backpacks and even on their clothing, on the walls of their home, inside and out – that their kids will know Scripture and have a mental foundation to process what is discussed at school.
• Pray that students, teachers and administrators would attain the mind of Christ and therefore inspire everything that is taught and learned.
• Pray that Texas Tech would to be a model of Christian revival and spiritual awakening on a secular campus that would influence other campuses.
• Pray that Wayland Baptist University and Lubbock Christian University would be mighty in ministry training and in preparing students for great Christian influence in many fields
• Pray for Christian schools and home schools (pre-school through high school) to be effective in training young minds with the ways of God and the academic tools they need.
• Pray that our education systems will again acknowledge God and be subject to the Spirit of Truth, of whom Jesus said will teach us all things.
• Pray that more people in educations systems will research the truth and context of Thomas Jefferson’s phrase in a letter, “separation of church and state,” and see how different Jefferson’s original intent is from modern educational philosophy.
Prov 9:10 –"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
