Mar. 23 - God's Destiny for the Body of Christ and the Kingdom of God

Sunday - The Body of Christ and the Kingdom of God
Week 4 - God's Destiny
Desired outcome of today's prayer - Prayer is not about getting our will granted in heaven, it is about getting God's will realized on earth. This is never truer than when praying for the Church. The Bible is clear about the character the church should have so we are simply praying that the Body of Christ become all God intends her to be in Lubbock. Matthew 16:18 "...I will build my church, and the all the powers of hell will not conquer it."
Christian churches and organizations in mind as we pray: Christian congregations, Christian ministries, Christian radio, university ministries, pastors, ministers, rectors and priests, Christian denominational regional staff, home churches, youth ministries, children’s ministries, prayer ministries, local church prayer leaders, Sunday schools, elders, deacons, church board officers and members, missionary organizations, prison ministries, counseling ministries, All-City Worship Leaders Fellowship, Pray Lubbock, Children’s Home of Lubbock, Buckner Family Hope Center, Methodist Children’s Home, Across the Street Ministry, Kingdom CO-OP, Lubbock House of Prayer, 132 House of Prayer, Encounter - a House of Prayer, Open Door, Kingdom Come Ministries, Lubbock Dream Center, Christian Counselors, St. Benedict's Chapel, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Quest Restorations Ministries, Exodus Prison Ministry, John 8:32 Prison Ministry, Water Hose Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, One Heart Foster Alliance
Prayer issues for today:
• Pray for pastors in the city to function knowing there is one church in Lubbock and it is the church that Jesus is building.
• Pray for God to equip those He has called to leadership in the Body of Christ that pastors would resemble the Good Shepherd in devotion to God, character and ministry.
• Pray that the Church will become a chosen race, a royal priesthood, holy nation, and God’s possession for the purpose of proclaiming His excellencies.
• Pray that the church of the city will begin to resemble the Bride of Christ and be purified into the spotless, virgin, righteous Bride wholly devoted to Jesus and awaiting His return.
• Pray that pastors in our city will go beyond cooperation with and acknowledgement of one another, and begin to honor one another as family, in unity.
• Pray that the Body of Christ in the city will be one as Jesus and the Father are one that the world will know that Jesus is God’s Son.
• Pray that the various congregations in the city be transformed and governed by God’s Word and the instruction given by the Holy Spirit.
• Pray that our churches would be blessed with worship in Spirit and in Truth that transforms lives merely by being in the presence of God and His Truth.
• Pray that a spirit of Elijah, one of God’s power and bold proclamation, (the spirit of which Elisha requested a double portion), would be upon our pastors and congregations.
• Pray that a spirit of pure and undefiled religion would fall on the church in Lubbock – religion that visits orphans and widows in their trouble and keeps unstained by the world.
• Pray that the Church in the city would walk in the genuine fear of God and inherently, walk in the favor of God.
Hebrews 12:28,29 "Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let's show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire."
