Mar. 21 - Spiritual Awakening in Government and Civic Entities

Friday - Government and Civic Entities
Week 3 - Spiritual Awakening
Desired outcome in our prayer today - Spiritual wakening, as opposed to revival, refers to individuals moving from darkness into light for the first time. Prayer issues for today:
• Pray for the salvation of civic leaders, elected, appointed and employed, who have a passion for civility and order in our society but don’t have the insight of being transformed and renewed by Jesus.
• Pray for the transformation of whole neighborhoods in our city through block parties, and prayer efforts like blesseveryhome.com where Christians can lead their neighbors to the Lord.
• Pray for the alignment of our governments, i.e. city, county, state and nation, with the Biblical principles our founding fathers and pioneer citizens championed: advancement of the Gospel, unhindered; dependance on God, unashamed; and conformity to the Bible, not the world’s ideas - in other words, being a light for Jesus.
• Pray for the salvation of brave and sacrificial civic servants who daily put their lives in harm’s way for us but don’t know the eternal peace of trusting in the Lord: paramedics, police, firefighters, sheriff’s department, federal agents, department of public safety, secret service, and military personnel.
• Pray for the salvation and transformation by the renewal of their minds set on the things of God, for all of those serving in the judiciary on city, county, state and federal levels
• Pray for the safety and salvation of corrections facilities workers so that they have the perspective of redemption and transformation that walking with the Lord can bring
• Pray for clerks, recorders, secretaries, bailiffs, custodians, security, information services, deputies, all staff in our courthouse and at citizens tower that haven’t yet surrendered to Jesus to find that anchor in Him.
• Pray for salvations among our workers in utilities, road constructions crews, public transportation workers, compliance enforcement workers, etc. that they would find the joy of life in God’s family.
"I request, most reverend and respected gentlemen, that you will accept my cordial thanks for your devout supplications to the Supreme Ruler of the Universe in behalf of me." President George Washington in a letter to the bishops, clergy, and laity of the Protestant Episcopal Church, August 19, 1789
