Mar. 13 Revival of God's People in Families and Individuals

Thursday - Families and Individuals

Week 2 Revival of God's People

Desired outcome of today's prayer - We want to lift up Christian families and individuals who make up the foundational unit of God's creation - the family.  We want Christian families and individuals all over Lubbock to be renewed in their faith, refreshed in their understanding of Jesus' redemption for them and revitalized to grow by serving others.  Joshua 24:15 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

When praying today, we have these in mind: Traditional families, blended families, single-parent families, grandparents raising grandchildren, dysfunctional families, families with teenagers, families with infants and children, families who are pregnant, parents with empty nests, pastor’s families, home school families, families recently experiencing death or tragedy, families with members in the hospital, singles, grandparents, fathers, mothers, teenagers, children, infants, the unborn, nursing home residents, pregnant and un-wed girls, college students, homeless, those who have disabilities, families who live below or near the poverty line, individuals with addictions, those physically ill, those contemplating marriage, individuals in institutions, incarcerated individuals, individuals who are of an ethnic minority, individuals who are sexually disoriented and/or have gender dysphoria, individuals contemplating suicide, those in depression, those incarcerated, families in transition due to job change, divorce, or death,

While praying today, consider these areas of opportunity for revival:

• Passion in fathers that causes them to take more steps in spiritual leadership in their home

• Strength and revival in Christian mothers to teach about and demonstrate the love of Jesus as they nurture their family

• That Gen Alpha kids (birth-11) would bless their parents as they grow in their passion for God

• That Gen Z teens and young adults (12-27) would lead the way in serving the Lord with reckless abandon

• That Millennials (28-43) would find stability with a solid anchor in Christ for their families, relationships and community

• Renewal in family worship that can draw believers into deeper reliance upon the Holy Spirit

• Lead families to find time together to read God’s Word, pray and talk about their walk with the Lord that will renew their love for God’s Word and reliance upon prayer,

• Increase the number of men’s and women’s accountability groups where they sharpen and encourage one another as iron sharpens iron

• Family life groups, home groups, where couples and singles find encouragement to and spiritual resources to walk more boldly with the Lord

• Put a passion in Christian’s hearts to pray and care for their neighbors and grow by doing so

• That Christians’ Intimacy with the Lord will truly lead to John the Baptist’s attitude: “that He might increase and I might decrease”

• Enable nursing home & retirement home residents to grow closer to you in this season of their lives so that loneliness or depression is overcome allowing them to reach out to others

• May Christian families to find Sabbath rest together to renew their strength and restore their passion for God

• Bring revival in pastor’s families that each member might live in an authentic personal relationship with God through Jesus

• Bless Christian individuals who due to incarceration, homelessness, mental illness, addiction or some other life-altering affliction need healing, hope and a new beginning

• Help those of us who are praying, not only pray, but take action where we can be agents of revival needed in other Christians’ lives

 • Encourage families to listen to God as they consider foster care and adoption and the revival that can bring for their family and the child(ren)

Matt 10:37 – "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me."
