Apr.29 God's Destiny for the Business and Economic Sector

Tuesday - Businesses and the Economy
Week 4 - God's Destiny
Desired outcome for today's prayer - God has created us with the ability to work as a means of providing for ourselves and our families and as a means of fulfilling our personal purpose and the Great Commission. We are praying that we have God's perspective and design on business practices and that our work fulfills His purposes, not ours. Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people."
Groups in mind as we pray today: Small businesses, large businesses, construction, distribution and trade, transportation/public utilities, wholesale industry, banks and financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, services, real estate, hospital/health care systems, retail, restaurant industry, motels, tourism, agriculture, Consulting Services, Home Businesses, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic chamber of commerce, African American chamber of commerce, Better Business Bureau, Rotary, Kiwanis, Optimists, Market Lubbock Temp Services, CEOs, Managers, Middle Management, Employees, illegal businesses, immoral businesses
Prayer issues for today:
• For businesses to transform their skill for successful profit-making to being successful and advancing the Kingdom with a portion of the profit
• That business would seek the care of a pastor or chaplain who can minister to the employees, owners and managers and discover direction and bring greater unity within the company
• That funds would be released and provided by God to provide for families through fair and gainful employment
• That companies/businesses would be inspired by God to be generous and find joy and fulfillment in releasing funds for Kingdom work after compensating workers
• That employers would covenant with workers fairly, with respect and without threats or coercive manipulation in the workplace (Eph. 6:9)
• That workers would render service to their employers and do their work as unto the Lord, not to people
• That workers would trust in the Lord to bring forth food and vegetation from the earth and fruit from their labor
• That there would be jobs for every citizen in this city, that every citizen would know the blessing of eating the fruit of their own labor. (Ps 128:1-2)
• That business partnerships would not be unequally yoked; that believers will partner with believers and nonbelievers will become persuaded toward the gospel due to the witness of the believers
II Corinthians 6:14 "Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
