Apr. - 4 Seeking God's Presence through Paise regarding Government and Civic Enities

Friday - Government and Civic Entities

Week 5 - Praise and Thanksgiving

Desired outcome for today's prayer - God established and blessed government in Genesis 1 when He created mankind, male and female, and charged them to be fruitful, subdue, and rule over God's creation.  We want to praise God for the origin and design for government laid out in Scripture and for the peace and unity good government can bring. Through praise we invite God's presence into our government.  Romans 13:1 "Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities.  For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God."

Praise God for these benefits of good government:

• Praise God for our inheritance of the freedom in the United State because of the sacrifice of countless men and women of our armed forces, both current and past.

• Praise God for the freedom of expression that exists in this country that allows suggesting opposing points of view and permits debates with civility.

• Praise God that the laws of this land have emerged out of understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) law and guidelines for rule, punishment, and restraint are rooted in God’s Word.

• Praise God wherever cooperation for good exists between local city and county, state and federal government and law enforcement agencies.

• Praise God for the freedoms and rights that have been established by our Declaration of Independence, our Bill of Rights and our Constitution.

• Praise God for many citizens who exercise our freedoms and rights under God’s mandate that we acknowledge Him in all matters and live according to the morality of God’s Word.

• Praise for the may quality, godly leaders, past and current, who have been called and elected to serve in our local, state and federal government.

• Praise God for the potential for good that exists when the pastor-shepherds come along side civic-shepherds (those in authority) and pray for one another.

Daniel 2:20,21 “Daniel said, ‘May the name of God be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. It is He who changes the times and the periods; He removes kings and appoints kings; He gives wisdom to wise men, and knowledge to people of understanding.’”
