Week 5 - Praise
Desired outcome for today's prayer - God put Adam to work from the beginning. Paul tells us to work as unto the Lord and that providing for our families is part of our responsibility. We want to thank God for opportunities to invest our time in pursuits that honor God and provide for needs around us. Psalm 62:12 "And faithfulness is Yours, Lord, for You reward a person according to his work."
Groups in mind as we pray today: Small businesses, large businesses, construction, distribution and trade, transportation/public utilities, wholesale industry, banks and financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, services, real estate, hospital/health care systems, retail, restaurant industry, motels, tourism, agriculture, Consulting Services, Home Businesses, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic chamber of commerce, African American chamber of commerce, Better Business Bureau, Rotary, Kiwanis, Optimists, Market Lubbock Temp Services, CEOs, Managers, Middle Management, Employees, illegal businesses, immoral businesses
Praise God for these realities in our economy
• Praise God for the economic undergirding of this city through thriving businesses who employ our citizens: banks, industry, agriculture, medical services, retail, Texas Tech, LCU and other educational institutions, government related services, small businesses.
• Praise God for agricultural opportunities and the fact that Lubbock is the largest cotton producing part of the world.
• Praise God that the Texas Cotton Ginners’ Association’s trade show, the largest showcase in the United States focusing solely on the cotton ginning industry, will occur in Lubbock on April 3-4, 2025.
• Thank God for the heritage in this city of entrepreneurs a who have built successful businesses from scratch.
• Praise for Christians who own businesses and direct a portion of the business profits directly to Kingdom work.
• Praise God for Perfect Pear Media and the connections forming through Lubbock Black Businesses.
• Praise God that in 2024, Lubbock had the highest rate of increase of home sales compared with 2023 among the 26 major home sales markets in Texas.
• Praise God for prayer groups, Bible studies and evangelism that is emerging among work associates.
• Praise God for non-profit organizations who effectively improve our community though dedicated and compassionate work.
Matthew 25:23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
