2008 Prayer and Fasting Summit for Pastors

Pastors,

As of Tuesday, April 1, we have modified this Prayer Summit.  It is now a 24-hour Prayer and Fasting Summit.  Bottled water, juice, gum and mints will be provided.  If you need to eat for medical reasons, you are certainly free to eat, at your discretion, in your room.  You'll need to bring your own food. The brochure you can find here contains much relevant information, but it doesn't reflect the fee change or the fact that we will be fasting.

2) The registration fee for this prayer and fasting summit is $40, including your single occupancy room.  We also have the option of Monday only for $15 or Tuesday only for $15.  We have one full scholarship available - just ask for it if the cost is keeping you from coming - if you are first to ask, it is yours.

Who should attend:

• pastors who are new to the community - we will establish friendships and partnerships that will encourage you and be there for you

• seasoned pastors in our community - you have equity in the Kingdom of God in Lubbock - you know that teamwork is needed and you know that you have something to offer to collective pastorate of the city, for the sake of the Kingdom

• pastors needing personal prayer time - you will have time to pray as you need for personal direction, ministry decisions, refreshing your spirit, renewing God's call on your life

• pastors who have learned they can't reach this city by themselves - it is humbling to realize that God's plan is bigger than we can accomplish alone - it is amazing to learn that is why God has given us each other.

• pastors who want to invest prayer into megatrends of God's work in Lubbock - issues that transcend congregations and individual pursuits

• pastors who need prayer for financing the ministry - we'll pray about those personal and congregational financial needs

• pastors who will help us envision and pray about the next ten years of Pray Lubbock - remember the first full page ad about Pray Lubbock? We're talking about a second declaration on the 10-year anniversary.

The Prayer Summit will be located at Plains Baptist Assembly, a beautiful place in the Spring, located near Floydada.  We will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, including overnight lodging in the Adult Conference Center.  We will conclude and you can be on your way by 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8.

This will be a fasting-and-prayer-summit: i.e. a gathering of pastors for the purpose of prayer, - individual, small group and corporate.  We will create an atmosphere for you to be able to immerse yourself in prayer.  Do you need 24 hours away to pray? Come.  Do you preach and teach that prayer is the most important activity for the Christian?  Come.  Do you believe that the bonds of Christian pastors and ministers in Lubbock need to be strengthened and focused? Come.

All linens are provided in our motel-like accommodations.

Come away with your colleagues for a time of refreshing.
