Lubbock Ministries' Network Information

Announcements, Links and Contact Information

Announcements:

We-CAN is a non-profit “one-stop-shop” ministry to the homeless and low-income of Lubbock and surrounding counties.   Clients are able to access multiple service providers and faith-based organizations located under one roof.  This approach provides both accessibility and affordability to clients who are unable to navigate their way through the complexities of the social service system.

>    There is a great need for Foster Care in Lubbock.  There are options such as basic foster care and  foster-adopt. Three organizations who would be happy to assist families in your congregation become foster families are: Children's Home of Lubbock, Lutheran Social Services, and Methodist Children's Home.  We also have packets of information about three organizations in the Pray Lubbock Office.

> Endurance Wilderness Programs assists Churches in serving youth that have stepped into the cycle of delinquent behavior and need “Real Help for Teens”.  As a mission organization they offer a number of nontraditional areas your congregations to serve.  Such as, 1) provide re-supplies in the Gila National Forest or Big Bend National Park, 2) teach parenting skills to parents, or, 3) volunteer to assist on backpacking trips or rock climbing/rappelling events.  Leonard Warren or Larry Farley would be glad speak with your group about opportunities to reach these families.  For more information please contact Endurance Wilderness Programs at 806-853-9819 or endurancewilderness@yahoo.com.
